About SMOTJ
The Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem (SMOTJ) is an organization reconstituted in the United States to continue the tradition of the Orders in the Crusades; to oppose the symptoms of decadence in our age; to defend in an ecumenical spirit the common faith of all; and to help in the recovery and perpetuation of the spirit and ideals of chivalry, a personal code of honor based on highly formalized standards evolved by a professional military class, the knight
.

The International Order
The Ordo Supremus Templii Hierosolymitani (OSMTH) is an international chivalric organization that oversees the interests of and promotes the confederation of autonomous constituent Templar Grand Priories around the world that have allied themselves with O.S.M.T.H., including the Autonomous Grand Priory of the United States of America. It is referred to by members as “The Order.” The motto of the Order is Non Nobis Domine, Non Nobis, Sed Nomini Tuo Da Gloriam.

The Order in America
The Autonomous Grand Priory of the United States of America (GPUSA) was officially established when the Secretary of State of New Jersey issued the Proclamation of the Corporate Charter under the Official Seal of his office on June 29, 1962. Under this Charter and the Grand Statutes, Priories are a branch of the corporation, subordinate to the Grand Priory, and have no other legal status.  Commanderies, which are viewed as temporary organizations, are subordinated to either a parent Priory or to the Grand Priory.  In addition to being the President of the Corporation, the Grand Prior is the supreme leader chosen by the Grand Council to guide the activities of the Sovereign Military Order of the Temple of Jerusalem in the United States.

The Priory of St. James of Jerusalem
The Priory of St. James of Jerusalem is within Region II (Mid-Atlantic) of the Grand Priory of the United States of America.  Its members come from around the world but primarily from central Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.
