Priory Piper, Chev. Peter L. Heineman GOTJ, shown at right in full piper's uniform in the Cameron of Erracht tartan, wrote two tunes for the Priory of Saint James. There are no words to the tunes. Perhaps one of our more poetic members can come up with lyrics. Click on the sound bar controls or the blue underscored titles to hear the Midi file.
Chev. Pete writes....
Here is the Midi tune of the Knights Templar motto,
"Knights of the Temple" was written to commemorate in music the Knights of the Temple who fell in battle during the Crusades in the Holy Land. It is a four-part, 6/8 March. The contrasting themes are intended to reflect the conflicting cultures - the lighter of which representing the Christian Templars.
The second tune, "St. James of Jerusalem" was written at about the same time. I wanted something lighter just for our Priory that could be used for a processional or recessional. I have written music for a second piper (harmonies). No great inspiration...just a tune I couldn't get out of my head until I put it down on paper. I am hoping that someone might be able to compose a piano or organ accompaniment.
I can send the sheet music to anyone who wants to give it a try. Send an email to me at
Chev. Peter L Heineman GOTJ and I'll send it to you.
